A “Veto Referendum” R-88 is on the Ballot on November 5th

A veto referendum is a referendum by the people, in this case Referendum 88, to overturn (reject) an Initiative that was approved by the legislature in April 2019. Aug 6th Primary certified. Record Turnout. Link to all candidates who made the top two.

The August 6 Primary Election had the best turnout for a non partisan odd year election in the 21st Century.   Just over 58,000 ballots were turned in this election making the turnout 39.50% of the over 147,000 voters in Whatcom County.
