Notes from the Be-Brave Organization:
Saturday Feb. 15th:

* RALLY for Parental Rights in Olympia!!! 12pm NOON

State Capitol, North Steps. Several bills are being pushed through to protect
perpetrators of sexual misconduct with children
and to WITHOLD student information from Parents
This week I will highlight a few worth responding to although there are MANY.

HB 5181

So MANY BILLS!

Since Trump’s entry into the White House, there has been a very busy and intense legislative push in Washington to put bills through that either support or “counteract” Trump’s positions on policies. We are  doing our best to keep up on it but it’s impossible.

HB1334

Triples Property Tax Growth Rate and increase Rental costs
Please COMMENT and OPPOSE:

HB 1584

  • Ending vote by mail for non-absentee voters and restoring in-person voting at polling places and voting centers.

HB 1380

  • STOPS CITIES FROM ENFORCING RESTRICTIONS ON HOMELESS CAMPS
  • sponsored by State Rep. Mia Gregerson (D-SeaTac), restricts cities or towns to only regulate encampments on public spaces in ways deemed by a judge to be “objectively reasonable as to time, place, and manner.” This vague and subjective standard would even apply retroactively, potentially invalidating ordinances passed before this legislation existed.
  • Washington State Legislature
There is so much happening in Olympia that its hard to keep up but we want you to stay informed and engaged so you can protect your rights!
THIS SATURDAY, Feb. 15th at NOON, there is a Rally in Olympia to Protect Parental Rights. Bills like HB1296 and SB5181 protect criminals, NOT KIDS!
COMMENT and OPPOSE these bills.
We are busy trying to come up with practical solutions for the Fentanyl crises that perpetuates homelessness, crime and other problems for our community. One thing is certain: The money we waste on social programs in this county are doing NOTHING to reduce suffering, poverty, drug abuse, mental illness, public safety.
STOP letting our tax dollars go to waste. Help us hold our Executive office, Health Department and Councils accountable. Enough is Enough.

Opinion:
We hope you are staying warm out there and keeping those pipes from freezing. Last week we were bummed to have to cancel the meeting but a lot of people had snow and ice so we didn’t want to risk it. On Monday I celebrated 44 years around the sun! I feel blessed to be alive in the world, with all of you, right now. Not because it’s easy, but because there is so much to be grateful for. Even in the darkness, love shines through.  We have truly overcome some of the hardest times humanity as a whole has faced. And we are currently living through some of the most confusing times. With so much information coming at us from so many angles, it’s hard to keep a clear perspective.
But I keep coming back to this. We are all born free. And we as Be Brave Washington came together to protect our God given right to live free. We are not given this right by the government. So let’s not forget where our power lies.
For too long we have allowed taxes to be taken, money to be swindled, and policies to wreak havoc on our lives. Time to stand together and get it back on track. We can’t wait for government officials to find solutions to the problems they’ve created. We must think outside the box! Instead of being taxed out of your home, learn what the law is on taxes and make a change! When mail-in ballots have been used to overthrow our election system, RETURN to in-person voting! If crime is unbearable, stop allowing crooked politicians to sell our towns to the highest bidder! Hold them accountable to that Jail tax you’re paying, hold them accountable to the financial records of the Health Department, and elect representatives with the backbone to make common-sense common again!
