10:00 PM April 10th Senator Don M. Benton has just been appointed by President Donald J. Trump to be the next Director U.S. Selective Service System. Director Benton will report directly to the President of the United States. Senator Benton’s reaction: “I am deeply honored and humbled to be chosen. I look forward to serving the President and the American people in this important assignment.” This follows by a day a speech before the Whatcom County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner. Following is a copy of the press release… The director states that this appointment is direct from the President now and will not need confirmation.
